Reunião/ Meeting
A participação da MAIS na I Reunião de Coordenação da Sociedade Civil Brasileira no Haiti foi uma grande oportunidade para estabelecer contatos importantes e aprender muito. Estamos trabalhando, junto com outras ONGs, no grupo de trabalho que foca na educação.
MAIS's paticipation in the I Meeting for the Coordination of the Brazilian Civil Society in Haiti, was a great oportunity for networking and to learn a lot. We are working, together with other NGOs, in a task force that is focused on education.

Kanaan
Depois de 13 horas de viagem e muita aventura, chegamos em Bainet. Pude ver as necessidades da comunidade e como eles não tem nada.
Também fomos ao Kamp Kanaan para construir a Igreja do pastor Maxi e já concluímos a obra!
Na segunda estarei na embaixada brasileira junto com ONGs brasileiras, o Ministro das Relações Exteriores e outros membros do governo, participando de um forum sobre a reconstrução/desenvolvimento do Haiti.
Há uma previsão de que um furacão irá atingir o país nos próximos dias. Por favor orem pra que Deus desvie os ventos e chuva forte!

After 13 hours of traveling and a lot of adventure, we reached Bainet. I was able to see all the needs of the community and how they really have nothing.
We also went to Kamp Kanaan to build pastor Maxi's church, and completed it!
On Monday I will be at the Brazilian embassy along with Brazilian NGOs, the Foreign Relations Minister and other members of government, participating in a forum for the reconstruction / development of Haiti.
There is a hurricane forcast for Haiti during the next couple of days. Please pray that God will change the course of the winds and heavy rain!

Bainet / Kamp Kanaan
Depois de uma semana muito boa fazendo contatos e visitando igreja com o Thomas Kim, estou de volta à casa do Vijonet. Amanhã provavelmente iremos para Bainet, região de difícil acesso, ver o local onde construiremos uma escola.
Na terça, estaremos no camp Kanaan onde mais de 20 mil pessoas estão morando em barracas. Vamos ficar no local e ajudar construir a igreja do pastor Maxi.
Peço desculpas por não postar fotos, mas a internet aqui não permite... Porfavor continuem orando - as condições no camp são bem precárias e vai ser um grande desafio ficar lá.

After a great week of networking and visiting several churches with Thomas Kim, I am back to Vijonet's house. Tomorrow we will probably head to Bainet, a very remote area, where we are planning to build a school
On Tuesday, we will be at camp Kanaan where more than 20 thousand people are living in tents. We will be there in order to help build pastor Maxi's church.
I am sorry for not posting any pictures, but the internet here wont allow it... Please continue to pray - the conditions at the camp are very bad and it will be a big challenge to stay there.
